Pre-prints
Unfortunately, none of the professional societies which administer
the journals which publish our research work will allow online
publication of technical papers. Making pre-prints available easily
via the Internet would encourage more rapid and convenient propogation
of novel ideas and accomplishments. Instituting a moderately
permissive policy towards disseminating research results would serve
the optics and electronics community well. If you are interested in
seeing future work published online as well as in journals, you are
